Michael Passaportis joined Mayer Brown in December 2006 after clerking for Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Chief Justices William H. Rehnquist and John G. Roberts, Jr. on the United States Supreme Court. At Mayer Brown he has worked on a variety of matters in the Supreme Court and various other federal and state appellate courts.

Michael is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University. Thereafter, he earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was Articles Development Editor on the Virginia Law Review. While at Virginia, Michael won several prizes for academic achievement and a prize for his written work on law and economics applied to defamation law.
