Scott Chesin has worked on several appeals in state and
federal courts, addressing, among other topics, the constitutionality of punitive damages awards, exhaustion requirements
for habeas petitioners, and the introduction of extrinsic
evidence during jury deliberations.
Scott received his A.B., cum laude in History, from Harvard
College, where he was awarded the Wendell Phillips
prize for the most promising orator in the graduating class.
He earned his J.D. from the Columbia University School of
Law, where he was a James Kent Scholar and Senior Editor
of the Columbia Law Review. After graduation, he clerked
for Judge Pierre N. Leval of the United States Court of Appeals
for the Second Circuit. Prior to joining the Firm in
2004, Scott was Deputy Director of Ballot Access and Delegate
Selection for Wesley Clark's presidential campaign.
