Richard Pianka joined Mayer Brown in September 2007. Since arriving, he has worked on a variety of appellate matters in federal and state courts of appeals. Prior to joining the firm, Rich clerked for Chief Judge Danny J. Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Rich received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2005, where he served as the senior articles editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and as a teaching fellow in the Legal Research and Writing Program. Before law school, Rich worked as a computational linguist at a D.C. software engineering firm. He received his A.B., with high honors in classics, from Princeton University, an M.A. in Greek from the University of Texas at Austin, and was a Fulbright Fellow in Greece.
