C.J. Summers has worked on a variety of appeals in federal and state courts. He has written briefs on issues such as class certification (with a focus on multi-state classes and toxic-exposure classes), insurance bad faith, punitive and other non-economic damages, and the due process rights of a death row inmate in Georgia. C.J. has argued successfully before the Seventh Circuit, has been published in Mealey's reporters, the Harvard Blackletter Law Journal and the Yale Journal of Law & Humanities, and is co-author of a book chapter on e-commerce jurisdiction.
C.J. is a 2001 graduate of the Yale Law School. Before
attending law school, he received a Bachelors degree summa
cum laude in chemistry and philosophy from Illinois
Wesleyan University and a Masters degree in philosophy
from the University of Michigan.
