Jonathan Weinberg is a senior associate in Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court & Appellate practice. A registered patent attorney with a PhD in computer science, Jonathan has extensive experience at all levels of the patent system. He routinely brings patent-related appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where he clerked for the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna. Beyond patent law, Jonathan briefs courts and counsels clients on a variety of other technology-related issues, ranging from digital copyright to cybersecurity and digital search. He also maintains an active pro bono docket, in which he has obtained notable appellate victories on issues including prisoners’ rights and bankruptcy law.
Jonathan earned his JD cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center. He received his MS and PhD in computer science from the University of California, San Diego. He earned his BA in computer science from Colby College, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and with departmental distinction.
