Stephen M. Shapiro
Steve Shapiro is the founder and senior member of the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice Group at Mayer Brown. He served previously as Deputy Solicitor General in the Reagan Administration where he supervised business litigation in the Supreme Court. He is coauthor of the standard treatise in the field, Supreme Court Practice. He has argued 30 cases in the Supreme Court and many cases in state and federal courts of appeals around the country. He focuses on class actions, securities litigation, tax litigation, antitrust and trade regulation, communications law, intellectual property, banking, corporate law, punitive damages, and general regulatory issues.
