Crews v. Farina (U.S. Supreme Court)

In this case, we filed a supplemental brief successfully opposing a petition for certiorari that sought the reimposition of the death penalty against our client, Anthony Farina.  After the Eleventh Circuit ruled that Mr. Farina had received a constitutionally inadequate sentencing trial, the State of Florida asked the Supreme Court for summary reversal.  Our brief—which built on our prior work as amici in the Eleventh Circuit—was a rapid response to a supplemental brief filed by Florida after its petition had been circulated to the Justices for their review.  The Supreme Court ultimately denied certiorari, ensuring that our client will receive a new sentencing-phase trial.
