Salazar v. Galvan (Seventh Circuit)

The father of D.S., a thirteen-year-old boy, sued our client, D.S.’s mother, under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, seeking to require the return of D.S. to Mexico from the United States. The district court ruled in favor of the father and ordered D.S.’s return. We appealed to the Seventh Circuit, arguing that the district court erred in holding that D.S.’s father had custody rights entitling him to require D.S. to be returned.
